LPN Uses 'Bridge' Program for Transition
Chandelin Chase |
The Full Employment Council is helping Chandelin Chase reach her goals of a nursing career. Through their Youth Opportunity program, she received certified nurse assistant training and an internship.
After taking time off to care for her new baby, Chandelin is now working in home health on weekends and attending an LPN program at Penn Valley Community College during the week. She’s received funding from the Full Employment Council for the books she needs for her courses. She also participated in their $250 Youth Opportunity retention workshop, and she’s now eligible for a $1,000 scholarship from Youth Opportunity.
Chandelin is looking forward to working as an LPN. Her next educational goal is earning her associate degree in nursing and her R.N. license. She will be able to take a bridge program designed for nurses who are already LPNs.
